"In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him” (1 John 4:9, NKJV)
With great patience, Jesus explained to His audiences that He was the Son of God. He performed
many miracles, He was fulfilling the prophets’ predictions about the coming Messiah, and John the Baptist had testified that Jesus was Divine.
It is “politically correct” and popular today to proclaim that all religions are paths to the same God, and every faith is of equal value. Clearly, Jesus taught that He is the only way to God and the secure promise of eternal life.
While no religion or genuine faith should be disrespected, it is essential that followers of Jesus continue to proclaim the good news of His coming. Remember that Jesus stood in front of these people after performing miraculous healings, and many of them still did not believe in Him.
We must uphold the promise Jesus gives us for life eternal and continue to tell others that belief in Jesus Christ—not any other religious leader, no matter how popular—is the only way to obtain life after death.
One must first hear the Word, believe that Jesus is the Son of God, be buried with Him in baptism, and rise up new. What a wonderful gift to receive!
