God speaks to us today through His written word. When God speaks to us it is always for our good. He only wants what is best for us. The same Word that brought the universe into being and calmed the wind and sea speaks to us today in the New Testament. When the Word speaks to us and we ignore it, we ignore a power that can move mountains and change the lives of those who obey.

2022 CONGREGATIONAL THEME

Our world seems more ready to dig into partisan perspectives than to find ways to address the common needs arising from having a shared history and future with their fellow citizens. Internationally, across cultures and regions, there is also a rising tendency towards isolation even as our global interdependence grows. We continue to see our communities segmented into masks and no masks; vaccinated versus unvaccinated; right versus left. Division threatens our world, our nation, our state, and our cities.
From a Biblical perspective we are admonished to keep and maintain unity; to strive for unity; to appreciate the blessings and benefits of unity. Ultimately, the Bible helps us recognize the power and priority of unity with the church being God’s answer to a divided society. The following scriptures provide a compelling case of the impact God intended the church have in bringing people together and to make them better.
God’s Answer to a Divided World, the Church : Ephesians 3:6-11; 20-21
God’s eternal purpose realized in the church of Jerusalem : Acts 2:41-47
In this pivotal passage in the history of the early church, unity is exemplified in every facet of the church: doctrine; fellowship; worship; and service. And this unity contributed to the growth and development of the New Testament church. Unity is to be pursued and maintained in every ministry and endeavor of the local church. Despite the isolation of the pandemic we will pursue unity with a renewed vigor and prove that we are Better Together. We will build better families, a better leadership, and a better congregation, TOGETHER!
