And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7
Man was created, in essence, to glorify God. At the Greenville Avenue church of Christ, classes, workshops, and various events are held that facilitate our glorification of the Creator of the world.
No matter your station in life, single or married, parent or not, young or young @ heart, you will benefit from participating in the classes and fellowship built into the Men’s ministry events at GACC.
MEN'S TRAINING CLASSES
Classes are offered to the men of this congregation who are interested in functioning as participants in the order of service. So that GACC’s weekly worship services proceed decently and orderly, participants require training. This is particularly beneficial for young boys, new converts, and those transferring to GACC from sister congregations. Your participation in the order of service will enhance your worship and edify the rest of the congregation.
HOMILETIC LECTURES
hom·i·let·ics [hom-uh-let-iks] the art of preaching
Each fall students from the Homiletics Class present a series of sermons over the course of a Friday evening and a Saturday morning. Based upon a selected book of the Bible, the men present their lessons according to the study and preparation they have put into their research of the selection. Attendees are blessed and encouraged by the presentation of God-given gifts and talents on display from the men of Greenville Avenue.
MEN'S WORKSHOPS
The brothers of Greenville Avenue, along with their invited family and friends, convene annually to learn from speakers from all over the brotherhood who challenge the listeners to grow and become better men of God. Various aspects of manhood: family leadership, parenting, evangelism, benevolence, and much more are presented and discussed at these beneficial gatherings.
MEN'S QUARTERLY BREAKFAST
Eggs & bacon, sausage & pancakes, juice & coffee. All this and more await the gentlemen who come out early on a Saturday morning to participate in the Men’s Breakfast. Although the food and fellowship are big draws, the discussions regarding goals, accomplishments, congregational needs, and aspirations are the main focus for these gatherings. The GACC leadership uses this venue to present plans and receive feedback from the men who care about the direction forward for GACC.
